I just put new rims, tires, and spacers on my car. When I coast I hear a thumping noise from what seems to be my rear driver side tire. The faster I coast, the faster the thumping...the slower I coast, the slower the thumping, seems like it thumps on every tire rotation. There is no noise when I press the accelerator, only when I coast. The tire isn't rubbing anything and there was no noise before the new wheels. Any thoughts on how to diagnose or the problem? I'm going to see if I can find out the problem myself then take it to a shop if I can't fix it.
Good thought, but the TPMS sensors are still inside my winter tires, tucked away til November (Ive since disabled TPMS in my car). I thought the tire place could have accidentally dropped something inside the tire, but I'd probably hear it when I accelerate...as soon as I touch the gas, the noise stops.
