I drove from Upstate South Carolina to Orlando FL over Thanksgiving. Filled up before I left and didn't really watch the mileage, thou, I felt I was traveling down hill on the way.
I filled up in Orlando and reset the mileage to check how I was doing around town and the first part of the trip back. I filled up with cheap gas in town and cheapest on the road....which was Love's. I was averaging 22.5 which sucked because that is what I got around town. Chocked it up to traveling up hill. I filled up again half way home, somewhere in GA. at a Murphy/Wal-Mart which is also cheap....reset the mileage....and increased average to 24.7. This would have been the more up hill leg of the trip.
Has anyone else noticed this big a difference in mileage between brands? My next test will be a really good brand
I fill up every Friday afternoon at the Costco on my way home from work. I've been getting 17.9 mpg for a while now. That's mostly zipping through town though. My commute each day is about 12ish miles each way so 24ish miles total.

I didn't think hers (computer trip milage) was working, because it was always at 18.1, didn't matter how or were it was driven. When I installed the Injen cold air intake, I disconnected the negative post of the battery, now it reads different numbers. Just took a trip to Pittsburgh about 300 miles and was getting 20.5. But since putting on the intake, we are always making it "growl" and I know that doesn't help the mileage. Never really did the math myself to see if the computer is right. I guess I really don't care.
