Default Bluetooth phone issue

I have a 2005 sc430 and have loved the Bluetooth phone function. I just got a new phone and suddenly the Bluetooth is sporadic. Sometimes it works and sometimes not- very random. The interesting thing is that my phone shows that it's connected to the Lexus and I can actually make calls from the Lexus touchscreen, however sometimes I can only communicate through the handset (even if I placed the call through the touchscreen).

Anybody experienced this?

Was the phone you got compatable with your car, I have the same 2005 year and I started originally with the razor. i am now with an I phone 3G . It works fine with the I phone except I
get the loud static burst noise through the speakers on about 2 out of 5 calls. Lexus knows about it but there is nothing they can do. There is a list of approved phones lexus has on there web site. I would check that out.

LG Phones work very well. I have used both the LG EnV Touch and LG Voyager.. also the LG Ally should work very well.

Kkaser, what phone gave you the problem?

Phones not on the Lexus list will often work. In fact, I'd venture to say that most phones will work. So it would be good to have a list in the forum of the phones which don't work or don't work well. For example, I knew not to get an iPhone due to the static burst (among other reasons).

I have a 3GS iPhone with my 05 and it works great. Sometimes you have to hit car vs iphone a couple of times to get it to decide which one to choose, unlike my other two cars who automatically choose the car over the iPhone but it's not bad for old tech I guess!

It's a shame my '07 SC's Bluetooth interface doesn't work as well as my '07 Prius did. With the Prius I could hear the call ringing and it just worked better. But.... it isn't the SC so I'll just be happy with it anyway.

Yeah, I think the Prius has the same setup as the IS. Nice loud ring and easier interface.

My FX35 has a great system too. It's almost too good!
