Default Just Sold the SC =(

Its a sad day but today I handed over the keys to my 2003 SC430. I've owned the car for 5 years and the only problem it ever had was a bad 02 sensor. The car was solid and for a 7 year old car, it still looked like it came off the showroom floor. The car held its value pretty well considering I bought it for 40k back in 2005 with 25k miles on it, and sold it today for 22k with 65k miles on it. For those wondering, it was replaced with a 2007 Cayman S

I guess the Cayman has a little more space, unless you pack like this guy. Sorry for your loss.

Roughly 45 cents a mile depreciation, not including gas, insurance, etc.. That's a sobering figure.

Welcome to the German world of high operating and maintenance costs. Hate to see you leave the fold. Good Luck!

Congratulations on your decision. I'm sure it wasn't an easy one.

I'm betting the "tough crowd" has to do with the fact that the Caymen is not a convertible. Obviously, most folks on this forum are somewhat partial to convertibles.

There's no question that the Caymen and the SC430 are world's apart as cars. You traded in your laid-back, top-down cruiser for a hard-core sports car.

Personally, there's no way I'd fault you for that. The "S" model to boot! Sweet!

And, for the record, I don't NORMALLY pack the car that way.

Porsche now ranks 2 in reliability. Think of it as a German Lexus. Congrats a fine pick.

Have to admit I didn't know what a Caymen was until googling it.....and I used to be a Porsche guy. Beautiful car.

Not too bad, though. The guy I bought my 430 from lost over $40k over 20k miles. $2/mile....

You'll love the Cayman - street legal go cart, and lighter than a 911.
I wish I fit in one.

Nice! Congrats! totally different animal, but a lot of fun! Got to drive my buddy's who had too much to drink one night to drive it home. Very fast...and he didn't even have a "S". Post some pics!

Just curious...why not the Boxster S?

A few of us have traded our SCs for Porches. Last year I picked up an 09 Boxster to replace my '03.
