Default antenna not retracting

The antenna on my '02 stopped retracting the final one foot. When I turn the car off I can still hear what I think is the retraction motor 'buzzing' for 10 secs. I cleaned it and oiled it with liquid graphite and I can pull it out and push it in manually.
Do I need a replacement? Can my Toyota dealer do it?
Thanks
Chuck

Drabek, that sounds identical to the problem I was having. I removed the antenna myself only to find about 5" of plastic which obviously came out with the antenna mast. The rest of the plastic is still in the motor the best I can tell. So tomorrow's project is to access the motor to see if I can get to the remaining plastic mast worm or whatever it's called. If you're lucky you may just have a few teeth missing on your plastic mast. Then all you have to do is pick up a new one and follow instructions on another thread.

good luck,

lar

When I first got my SC, I had the same problem. I just took it to an audio shop and had them fix it, cost me like $20.
