Re-torque drive shaft flange bolts?
Does anyone now the torque for this? I am doing my 50,000 mile service and have not done this in the past. Is it needed for the SC430? If you have socket size, torque setting, pics, please post. Thank you!

When you do this, please let us hear if the bolts were still set at the recommended torque or had they loosened. I have always questioned the necessity of doing this maintenance. Your results could change my mind. Thanks.

I can tell you they are 17mm. I need an adapter for my torque wrench. It is going to be a tight fit. Not sure it is worth it unless you hear a noise shifting.

I just did this service. Some tips. Of course block the car and use jack stands!
There are 6 bolts at the engine connection and 6 bolts at the differential connection. 17mm
socket.
You can only get the torque wrench on 1 bolt at a time then you have to turn the flange to access the next bolt.
Mark the bolt so you know which ones were done. I used white out
To do this, jack up one of the rear tires off the ground so you can turn the flange with the engine in neutral.
Position the flange so you can access the bolt then put the car back in park to lock the flange from rotating when torquing
BTW all my bolts were tight! None moved when re-torquing
