Exclamation TECH Driveshaft torque?

I don't have it in front of me, but one of the maintenance items on our new SC430 is to re-torque the driveshaft (or some part of it). I will be servicing the vehicle myself, as Lexus does not provide inclusive service, and the actual torque is not listed.

Anybody know the torque/procedure?

Thanks

Hey Dave,

You're a do it yourselfer ?

I'm not sure about your question but have you considered a Shop Manual ? I'm considering getting one.

Have you changed your oil and filter yet ?

Default Hey David...

If you're referring to the re-torqueing of the front stabilizer bar, that's a free warranty fix at your dealer...

Default not that

No, the schedules maintenence at 5,000miles includes "Re-torque drive shaft flange bolts". That is the only service in the first 30000 miles that requires any special knowledge, therefor, I am not going to buy a manual. I'll call the dealer if I have to, but I'm not paying a couple hundred $$ for regular service.

Thanks for any help.

Dave

a friend is looking it up for me. I'll post it if anyone cares. I think it is just a gimmick to keep you coming back to the dealer for those $150 oil changes

I was exagerating, but the pre-paid package they try and sell adds up to a ton of $$$.

The driveshaft torque is 58ft lb and the half-shafts are 61 ft-lb
