Default problems with the white gold color

i got a 03 white gold.
i installed the lip kit and this is the second time the body shop is repainting it and still a bit off.
they are claiming it is impossible to match the color white gold pearl because off various reason such as, sun, if the car was repainted before, the body shop before and the amount off pearl they used and on and on????!!!
is any off that accurate or they just dont have the skills ?

to get a perfect match, they would probably have to blend it into the bumper

Agree with Liquid 100%.. But keep in mind, not all paint shops can blend. Be sure you go to a reputable place. Another option is to have the lip molded in..

Here's my pearl white GS.. A number of spots on this car were painted. Took me 2 paint shops to get it to look decent.

It's a hard color to match. My car has been in "SHOPS" for almost 2 months now for a small scrape on the front bumper. I just pulled it from one shop that tried painting it four times with little success. Taking it back to the one shop that did it best in the past.

I have had it painted before and know what you seeing. It looks like a brighter white and seems to have less pearl when it's done wrong.

Different lighting changes the look of the two different materials (metal and plastic/glass body parts).

Blending is a bandage for shops that don't/cant get it right. I won't do it. Good shops don't need to blend. It will be more subtle but, your mismatch is still there.

Some shops can't do it. It probably wont be perfect but, can be matched close enough to make you feel good about it. It's your car and needs to be done to your satisfaction. Don't accept it and pay until your satisfied!

you know exacatelly what im talking about, its like u said it seems brighter white and not enought pearl, they told how blending works today and i said no why would i wanna paint body parts that are original paint!!!
its also maybe metal and fiberglass is different material to.either way they suppose to resand the clearcoat shoot more pearl on the base and reclear, i guess its just a matter off time and tries till they get it right.

Hey sam514,

It's OK for the paint to look a little whiter because it will yellow with age. Remember the original paint on your car is about 7 years old.

I had it painted in the past and color was matched real good. After time it got darker (more yellow). Just make sure they hit it with pearl good and it's maybe a little bit lighter.

Just got my car back and it's a little light but it will be fine in 6 months or so. Depending on the heat and sun it gets.
