ls400's side molding is $600 a piece?
hello,
i went to a body shop to get a price quote of painting the bottom of my car to the same color.
they said it's hard to take off the side moldings and so on....
and the price was like $1300+ for just the bottom of car! also they said they are going to give me some kinds of warranty. it's pretty well known body shop. (also, it's pearl white)
also, they said that ls400's side molding is very expensive like $600 a piece. LOL... is this true?
if it is true, it's expensive than the front bumper or the rear one.

Local high line body shop quoted me $600.00 for repainting l/r side mouldings, because of the all of the use once clips and labor or $1000.00 for the whole bottom half of the entire car.
I was considering changing the silver bottom of my pearl white LS to all pearl white.

hello,
if it's pearl white like mine, then you might want to consider before you decide to paint the bottom. my car is in a shop painting the bottom. i paid $2000+ for the bottom and the color match to fenders and doors! they said it's going to be stage 3 paint job.
i will try to post a picture when i get it back. i should go pick up my car today or next week.
ps> i checked with a dealer. yes it's really about $600 a piece for side molding...and look! how many side moldings ls400 has....wow..

i also have a pearl white LS 400 and was thinking about painting all pearl white...but I got a lot of feedback, like the two tone pearl white is a classic look and you can't find any LS 400's other than the first generations like that. it has that classic look that makes it have a step above the rest of the early 90's cars.
Just my opinion..........

honestly, i was going to buy the first gen. ls400 like 94 or something. after i saw that one old guy's 94 ls400 on the street, custom painted the bottom half to pearl white(he said he painted right after he got that car in 94 and it was really nice and well kept). looks VERY nice, b/c only the first gen. ls400 has the body kit alike, two in the front, sides, and the back! you should check out and see how nice it is......
