Lexus Platinum ESP
If there is a problem with the complicated trunk/roof due (full of hinges, etc), are they saying it might not be covered?

That's the biggie on Range Rovers-apparantely their air ride suspension that always goes out is due to a rubber flange that decomposes and cracks over time. The labor is like $2500 and the parts together are like $500. $3k job, but no warranty covers the rubber.
PLUS...regular maintenance has so much to do with hoses belts and driving conditions, weather, etc. It would be nearly impossible to warranty those with any sort of expected replacement schedule...then our ESP's would be double the cost!
The only thing I can think of on the hinges is that perhaps due to door abuse (slamming, wind catching, etc) and rate of use (every time you get in/out) perhaps they deem that as routine wear out item as well?
basically all you can hope for these days on a warranty is that it will cover a major thing when and if it goes out...the rest in my opinion is slanted in the mfg's favor!
