Default Heated Seats

Ok I searched and cannot come up with anything useful. It seems the heated seat for the driver side does not work...Before I start fiddling around the car does anyone have any idea as to where I should begin my quest in fixing this? It just doesnt seem right to get @ss raped by the dealer without first checking in with my fellow CL'ers.. Any feedback is much appreciated.

Does the light on the seat heater controller come on?

Check the fuse...it's located in the driver's side kick-panel, behind the parking break pedal.

If the fuse is good but the light doesn't come on, I'd check the connector on the underside of the seat heater controls (the module just pops up with your thumbs with the armrest console open).

If the light comes on, the fuse is good, but the seat just doesn't get hot, I'd raise the seat up as far as you can and see if you can check under the seat itself for a loose connector going to the heating elements.

Can you give us some more details. For example, when you rotate the switch on the center console does the indicator lamp light up? Is the passenger side working properly? Does the indicator lamp light for the passenger side?

My 2002 owner's manual says it's fuse#23 for the seat heater and is located in the passenger footwell outer wall. In my manual it's Page 316.
Your 2003 my be different.

Besides that there a few more failure points. If you can add some details I can offer more detailed help.

Yes, there is one under each seat along with another controller. The seat heater controller is on the outboard side. I am including a diagram.
