HELP HELP URGENT Gear problem!!!!

Finally got it solved
So after a lot of tears yesterday,
I managed to solve the problem temporarily. I went to the nearest workshop, paid $200 as an insurance, borrowed a mobile Jack (big size), then I took it with the help of a friend to the parking. Left the car up, went under it and found a loose long metal rod from the end of the gear Lever hanging!!
Once my friend moved the gear forward and backward, this rod was moving freely hitting all the parts around it!!
So I went back to my Laptop and browsed for about 15 minutes and read many articles and so many diagrams to understand how the lever is connected to the gear box . After understanding the main idea, I went back and took a deep look and found out that there are 2 ends of this rod connector. One is connected to the Lever (this side end was OK) and the other side end should be connected to the Gearbox via a flat metal plate (this side was lose!!) So I tried to fix it but with out the right tools and the right spare parts it was difficult!!!
So I managed to move the metal plate in the gearbox to change the gear position to N, Pushed the car out of the parking slot, again left it up, change the gear position to D manually by moving the plate, as we were about 4 min away from the gate closing time, I drove so fast out of the parking leaving everything behind.
Less that two minutes and the car was out side the parking
and I was so happy and felt that I need to reward my self,
so I went to the nearest petrol station and filled the car fuel tank, washed my hand and face, had a cold soft drink and a chocolate bar. Then I had a small chat with a man who was steering at me and wondering why I look so tired and dirty but so happy?!
So, I told him the story and he said “well, I think that if you were alone you would not succeed solving the problem, and friends are their always to help Haaa” AND I REMEMBERED THAT I TOTALLY FORGOT MY FRIEND AND MY MOBILE IN THE PARKING SLOT
??!!!!!!!!
Rushed back to pick up my friend and compromised him with 3 freezing beers. Heard some Yaa Yooo Yeee AAA OOO EEE
words from him but at the end he was normal.
Today I will do the same fix to my car to be able to drive it to the dealer.
