Question Trunk Tonneau Cover splitting.. can it be fixed? Expensive to replace!

Took my car to a new detail shop.. big mistake. They split the tonneau cover to the right of the handle. It's a $500 plus part! Anyone have any luck repairing it? Thanks!

Default Not pretty, but...

I'd try a vinyl repair kit, then to be extra safe you could put tape over it (thin packaging tape). Nobody is ever going to see it, so just get it strong.

Default have them fix it

If the detail shop split it, then they should replace it. I would talk to the manager of the shop.

Why is this your problem at all?
Get it fixed properly by a Lexus dealer and send the "detail shop" (which should quit calling itself that) the bill. Better yet, talk to the owner and let him know the problem, and arrange to have the dealer send the bill directly to the shop. The shop should be insured for damage to a customer's car, and even if it's not, it is clearly responsible.
