for front and rear to be equal would you set all four at the same stiffness or would you factor in the weight of the engine, thus making the front stiffer than the back.

That's what you have to play around with; the fronts and rears won't end up being set at the same damping-setting, and the only way to find the sweet spot for your preferences is to adjust, drive, adjust, drive, etc. I click the adjustment 2 clicks at a time between drives, starting at the softer side. Once you've done it a couple times you'll start to feel the slight differences with each setting. Drive over different surfaces at different speeds, and if it's cold weather you should drive for at least 20 minutes at a time to get the true feeling.

OK, I got them on the car yesterday!
We did the install ourselves and it was pretty easy! Like the previous posts said that the rears are the biggest pains because you have to take the whole trunk area apart! And I mean apart! The good is that you get to do a good cleaning while everything is out of the car! They install with very little difficulty. The Fronts we did the top balljoint disconnect and they almost fell off the car ....Super Easy! The Rears were a little more fighting to get them off but nothing extreme. We lowered the car about an inch all around so that we are sitting at 26" from the wheelwell to the ground all around. The firmness that we set was a little different than from what they say to set. The instructions say to set at 12 of 16 all around. That is away from firm. I set mine at 7 of 12 in the rear and 5 of 12 in the front. The ride is not harsh and feels pretty good right now. I will see how everything is after a few days and after they settle in a bit. I am happy with the upgrade so far! Thanks Again from Nigel for another great CL buy!!!!!!!!

Don't put the trunk liner back in for a couple weeks while they settle in, as you'll be adjusting the damping at least a few times. BTW, there's a couple EDFC kits for sale in the classifieds, in case your interested in being able to adjust your damping on-the-fly from inside the car. It's well worth it.... enjoy your Teins

I was only 4 clicks from the stiffest setting. I adjusted my dampening by putting it on the stiffest setting to see if that will remove the bounce. However when playing around with the settings (clicks) I noticed there were 25 or 26 clicks from softest to stiffest. Why is that, I thought there was only suppose to be 16?

Mine are set at the Max Dampening (softest ride) and the car is great. I would almost say it is better than the factory ride with the run flats.

Just wondering at that setting have you been on the freeway at high speeds, lets say about 100mph or over and hit a few dips in the road? I found quite a bit of bounce and I was set at 4 clicks from the stiffest (turning screw all the way to the right as if I was tightening a bolt or nut)

I haven't had up to 100 and over. Since this is more of a show/project car for me I probably won't get it that high. I did have it at ninety and it felt pretty good. The suspension does have some bounce. It reminds me of a GM suspension, kinda soft with a little bounce. I believe the dynamics of the Tein coilovers will always be either too soft or too hard. The problem is in the coilover spring and not the shock. For more spirited drivers, I believe a stiffer spring will be needed to get back that Japanese feel to the car. Just my 2 cents.

Bought the EDFC kit and installed it a few days ago. Very sweet setup. I like it! Thanks for the advice.
