i changed the fluid in a 2010 Camry and the transmission was designed the same. I did it like this, removed one of the transmission lines from the cooler and drained 2qts, refilled 2qts. Repeated these steps until the fluid came out clear red.
25k miles later and no issues.
Yeah, this procedure is for closed tranny which does not have deepstick and so on. formaly known as not needed fluid change
The flush is done to these by circulation fluid. just push new fluid in until the fluid comes out fresh enough to your linking.
Mine is not sc430, mine is sc400 1993 4spd AT, but the issues are mostly the same ;-)

Tonight I went out and the car was fine. However, later had the same problem.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks.

A faulty engine ECU can also be the cause of some types of AT issues. A careful look at error codes by a skilled tech with lots of Lexus experience is a good idea when the AT appears to have issues.
