Hey guys. I'm considering getting the grille painted black. What do you guys think?

The SC is black, has limo/dark black window tint and currently has the rims it came with - GS chrome rims (still not sure what polish the new rims will have). Knowing what the car looks like, please respond to the survey

 

my guess is it would look like the grille is missing from a distance

 

I did it and love it; makes it look much more aggressive. Do a search and there are others who have pics too. Just a note, if you're going to do it, make sure you have the silver trim on the bumper painted to. If you put the emblem on the black grille, it looks pretty good since the chrome looking trim and the chrome looking emblem match up well. Even without the emblem, it looks great. Good luck.

 

Peter I would suggest buying some black vinyl tape and just cover the grille bars and this way you will see what it would look like if you painted it. If you
dont like it pull off the tape and clean off the adhesive

Choice #4: Paint it black and remove the emblem.

 

I even painted the lower grilles as well..

 

that rx300 looks like a ford with the grill painted. I think the car needs a little bling. The rest of the car really has nothing to stand out. I'd leave it as is.

I would just debadge it if you want a different look. I took off the front emblem (super easy just one screw) and the word lexus and the sc400 on the back (with dental floss and some goo gone). So far I've gotten "is that a Bently" about as much as "is that a Lexus".

paint it and leave the emblem out.
