SC 430 v Tornado
All- Last night coming back from Tenn. to Atlanta I encountered what was to become the WORST storm I have driven thru in 30 years down south.
Having nowhere to pull over due to all the other cars hovering under each underpath along the routee I hunkered the SC down for battle and chomped on my unlit cigar.
What I can report in my 6 years of ownership is that this was probably one of the few times it proved to be a 4x4. Not once with the winds blowing in all directions did it sway out of its lane, not one did the brakes fade going thru mounds of ponding water, lose traction or steering feel and it got me home safe and sound but puckered.
I actually thought after going thru a 10 min period of hail stones I would have some damage on the body but alas this morning I dried her off and not a bump or lump????????????? WTF.
We may not say the SC is a sportscar, 4x4 or many other terms BUT when the weather is crappy the heavy steering has a big benefit, its fat posture hunkers it down and its slippery slope design does cut thru the wind.
I have her a pat on the hood last night and said THANKS.
Yeah, and a good wheelman with a cool head helps too.
Glad I was not in many other cars I have owned last night.
