Thanks! For some reason the drop down menu was not working on my browser to let me enter the car details.Bummer, those come out to $32.50 each. Oh well, that is still better than the eBay and dealer prices...

 

I tried another browser and the drop down menu worked. For my '01 LS430 it says I need the 10835 which is $41.50 each. Total with shipping, tax and 10% off is $88.33. Guess I will just order the ones off eBay which are $74.98 delivered to my door.

 

I just received the ebay trunk struts, installed them, and found it's just as easy as you said. Shipping was free. The clip directions confused me a bit. The old ones pry off easily, and while I was worried that one might spring away and become lost, I didn't realize the new clip is already on the new strut and simply press onto the ball. What an easy job

I'm glad I read it here first and that it got me motivated to buy the replacement to repair a strut that just did not do the job anymore.

 

I just bought the struts because I thought the trunk was supposed to pop up when I push the car or key button, without lifting with my hand. My trunk stays up easily. From what I am reading, I don't need these $55 struts and wasted my money, unless I need them in a couple of years...
It does seem strange that the trunk doesn't pop open like most trunks.
