I recently had the dealer replace my radio and now the ashtray door doesn't work properly - not at all actually. When I press on the door to open it, the door just goes down a little, and back up to the flush position, but doesn't open up by itself. I can move the door freely to open and close it manually. Does anyone have any advice? Could the radio replacement procedure have caused this or just a coincidence?

The only advice I have is to return to dealer and explain that it worked prior to them fixing radio. Hopefully they will take care of it at no charge. Good luck

Most likely the installation was not correct. Perhaps there is something underneath it that is blocking the ashtray from operating properly.
I would recommend removing it and inspecting keep in mind to close the ashtray before removing or installing the trim piece. Removing the seat warmer switch and gear selector **** first before removing the trim piece.

 

The dealer took care of it. They said it needed to be "retimed." Works good again, no charge.
