Default Exhaust pipe covers

My silver exhaust pipe covers are very tarnished on our 2003 indigo/ecru SC. Does anyone have suggestions on the best way to clean and polish?

I used steel wool on mine...started with the coarse one to get the baked on carbon and dirt off, then finished with the extra fine to polish it. It's very clean now but still not completely like new...still some slight discoloration/tarnish that didn't come off with either Brasso or Turtle Wax chrome polish. I've heard Meguiar's NXT metal polish works wonders so I'll try that next.

I really like that polished chrome-like look so am considering buying some chrome tips. Does anyone have any that they can recommend...that factory/oem style but have a chrome finish???

Thanks, I used the blue magic metal polish with 0000 steel wool then buffed using microfiber. It took off about 3 1/2 years of grime. They look new again.
