Default half assed exhaust

I wanted to get the pipes cut off right past the cats and then weld on a bigger pipe and a higher peformance muffler. I am having trouble finding an aftermarket muffler with the right inset. I had the resonators removed and replaced with just pipe so it sounds throatier but I'm desperate to find a muffler to complete the job.

Does anyone make a performance bolt on (just the muffler)? Does anyone make a performance muffler with the right inset/offset?

Just to ask, what are you looking for? Sound? Lighter car? Super loud? Sporty? Mike here has a custom muffler delete option and the car sounds greats. You can hear it in the San Clemente videos (coming soon) in the other thread.

I primarily want to make it sound nice but I am also looking for some performance gains. What is a muffler delete option?

The muffler delete option would be to remove the muffler assembly completely ad run pipes out the back with custom tips. One member has this on the board. It does sound good, very aggressive, and lightens the car by at least 40lbs.

resonators stay. just the mufflers. sounds fantastic! i doubt any noticeable performance gains especially from what you call a "half assed exhaust". besides, the sound that comes out of mikes car is phenomenal. ask anyone who has seen and heard it first hand.

exhaust doesnt help with performance that much but if you get headers you'd probally be pretty happy

I had the muffler removed and replaced with straight pipe. Now I have the muffler delete mod and the resonators are also gone. It sounds cool, very loud, deep, and throaty. I think it may be too loud however it's difficult to find a good aftermarket exhaust for the sc430, let alone one that would only cost, including labor, $250.
