Default More Air to Injen Intake

If my wife ever sees how much time I'm spending on my car, I'm dead meat...

Anyway, I recently noticed that there is a rubber flap that is on the radiator support on the passenger side, and if opened up would allow more air [theoretically] to flow to my Injen intake. So, I removed a fastener and folded the rubber over.

This is taken from inside the engine compartment back to the right side of the radiator support section.

Next, I moved the passenger side horn over further to the left onto one of the hood release bolts, and spliced a length into the electrical wire. Then I fab'd a thin aluminum air diverter that sits behind the grill and in front of the radiator. Who knows if this really brings more cool air into the engine bay for the intake - at least it makes me think so.

And, finally, this shows the "theoretical" air path. I'll be ok as long as this doesn't impede airflow to the radiator and A/C cooling systems! I'll know next August for sure...

Keep up the good work I had to do the same type of probing around with my RX300 to get some ram air.

WOW! Thanks - I appreciate the offer. I have been fooling around with cardboard trying to figure out how to bend metal to make an enclosure around the backside of the Injen Intake to block hot air. Let me see what I can do, and I'll get back to you later.
Thanks, Gee-bee!

Tony - I don't think so. Any water that would make it through would simply fall to the bottom of the wheel well, I think. I also use an Outerwears Racing ( http://www.outerwears.com/products.t...CB0E444206E4F0 ) prefilter over the air cleaner. Screens out water.
