Default Wheel Alignment Needed

Is there anything unusual or unique about the '02 SC430 that would require wheel alignment only by the dealer? Would you trust anyone *other* than a Lexus dealer to align the wheels of your SC?

I need to replace my tires and get an alignment because uneven wear has made them unbearably noisy. I'd like to have it done locally to avoid an unnecessary 5 hour roundtrip drive.

Nothing special that I'm aware of. Sometimes, I don't even feel comfy w/the $tealership doing the alignment. *cough*BMW!*cough* Most alignment shops should have the factory specs available.

Tough call. Lexus will have the proper machine to conduct the alignment. Tire shops will vary. The car requires a laser site alignment machine and most importantly-a skilled operator which many tire shops lack. I once had Winston tire (no longer around for good reason) align my SC300. Car pulled left, then right after another alignment. Viewing the paperwork I noticed they kept punching in ES300. Their response, "there all the same"! Some tire shops offer a lifetime alignment for what that is worth-read the fine print. I just go to the dealer on this one

i would say you want a good shop that has good hunter machines and techs for 4 wheel alignment. lexus cars are always on the harder side to align. if you have stock wheels, that's better. with aftermarket wheels, everything is magnified
