Question Body Kit Complications (Wald Executive)

When I stopped for an oil change I was advised by Lexus of Orlando:

"We cannot perform any work on your vehicle where a lift is required. We tried to put your car on the lift, but the side skirts will likely be damaged if we don't remove them prior to using the lift".

Has anyone else experienced this complication?

Should I pay for the labor to remove and reattach the side skirts just to get an oil change?

I am not comfortable using a quicklube joint, but I may have to.

Talk to me CL!!!

if you want things done right do it yourself. Oil changes are something that is easy to do and doesnt take alot of time. though what they are saying sounds kind of stupid. I've seen your car its not that low, they could get your car on the lift if they wanted to. I dont know why they are being ****** about it.

My take on dealership service is a no-no. Instead, I take my car to a preferred and trusted shop that does work on imports such as Lex's, Nissans, Toy's, etc. Also, the price is very nice and service is not that rushed compared to dealership servicing cars lined up to 10-15 cars waiting in line.

I've brought my car to the dealership (before the kit) for warranty stuff, but after the kit, I may take it back to the dealership just in case if there's any major issue. Other than that, for daily maintenance, either do it yourself or your local shop should have all the necessary lifts/tools that can accomadate modified vehicles.

yup it's ALWAYS a problem. so far i only know of one dealership in socal that can take my sc430 no problem, they need a low lift. too bad, but that's the price we pay

i would fnd someone else. taking off a side skirt for oil change, that's not the right thing to do

My last service my Wald side skirt got caught on the lift and mangled.. my Lexus dealer was very apologetic and kept the car an extra two days to fix and spray it.. I couldnt see where they fixed it and they gave me 10% off my service.

2 days to fix, that's pretty fast indeed

I dont think it was that bad, they only told me the damage over the phone .. so I never saw it.

Have to remember to remind them next time
