Actually, if you pause the roof when the rear window is perpendicular to the ground, it will stay there and not slowly lower itself. This is how you clean the inside of the rear window and how you get at all the gaskets every once in a while to treat them with 303.
Yes, the diabling is a good idea, but I guess they think the chance of this accident happening is quite remote ??
well if that's the case i think lexus is "wrong" anything happens, so preventing it from happen would be the ultimate solution, plus i think it shouldnt be too hard to do
I' ve never thought of doing that, why did you need to do that or is it just by accident ???
I did it too, but as a tag team at the gas station. Pulled up to the pump, my wife was closing the top, I pressed what I thought was the gas button, you know the rest.
I was lucky though nothing locked up.
A thread from the year 2002 indicated this has been done before by more than a few members. I know I've almost done it... pushing trunk button instead of gas button.

Thanks for all of the great advice...turns out that all you have to do is slam the trunk shut and disconnect the battery and the whole system re-engages itself!
