Hi all, I'm new to this group and also new to a 2005 SC430 which I love.
I have a question. I have th e2005 with the navigation system. I believe I read a post here that the 2005s have bluetooth. Is this true.? When I purchasde my car last week, the dealer said that only the LS400 has the bluetooth. Those of you who have the 2005, do you have the blue tooth capability.

The 2005 SC430 has BT, but not all devices will work. Lexus requires that OBEX is working in the device that needs to connect. Unfortunately some devices have it disabled. One example is the Verizon V710 phone. The phone will link and work with the exception of exchanging the phonebook. There are workarounds for this so it pays to experiment. I have the V710 and the 2005 SC430 and I found how to get the phone book uploaded....messy, but it can be done.
The 2004 LS430 and LX470 have bluetooth. In 2005 the RX330, SC430, LS430, GX470 and LX470 have bluetooth, IS300 GS 300/430 and ES330 do not in 2005. In 2006 the IS250/350, GS300/430, RX330/400h, SC430, LS430 GX470, and LX470, the ES330 is the only 2006 that does nto have bluetooth. All of these cars have bluetooth only with the navigation system with the exception of the 2006 GS300/430, it is standard on that car.
Thank you all for your replies. I found it very informative. This guy was some salesman. I have owned previous lexus and I have 2 relatives who also own the Lexus. I received my 2 master keys and a valet key. When I had purchased my previous lexus I received a small plate with the number for the Key, should I need a new key. The 2 people who I know also received the key plate #. I contacted the salesperson and his reply was that "we don't always get the plate". . Is there anyone out there who didn't get that "key plate" with the number of the key .
Thanks again to all.

hahhaha, "we don't always get the plate". tell him to resign and get a life
What does he care, he already got the money!!!!! But that's not right. Didn't even have the courtesy to say, I'll see what I can do. He gives me a reply thinking that I'll just disaapear. The book specifically states that it's needed to get new keys....
I still love my car. It is Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dude (or dudette) you need to point out to him that for $60k you do ALWAYS get the plate and him or someone at that dealership needs to get off thier lazy behind and get it done!

just email him and ask him to give you his manger and also the GM's contact information, and tell him you will contact them directly
The key code number should also be on that black credit card looking key that comes with the car. Or go to the lexus dealer in the service dept and ask them to look it up by the vin number and order you a new one.
It's Miss dudette <grin> I agree with you 100%. for what it cost he should get it for me. As suggested in this thread , I think I'll email him and ask for the General Manager's contact number. Thanks to all.....

I found a Sony / Ericsson T68i phone on eBay for $35 bucks which will link and exchange data with the SC430. I synchronized all my phone numbers in my V710 with MS-Outlook, then I synchronized Outlook with the T68i and uploaded the phonebook via BT to the SC.
Like I said, messy but it works. Spending the $35 bucks was a reasonable investment considering all the frustration and time I wasted realizing there was no way to upload the data directly from the V710. Thanks Verizon for crippling the phone, the class action against you has gone national, can you hear us now?
If you live in the SF Bay Area, I can let you borrow the T68i. I also found that I could upload the phone numbers from a Palm T3 to the T68i and then to the SC. But Unfortunately I was not able to link the T3 directly to the SC.
