new body style this September?
I spoke to a local dealer today...the salesman informed me that a totally redesigned Lexus SC was coming out THIS September...is that accurate? If not, when will it change? Thanks for any feedback...
Car salesmen are usually not a good source of accurate info regarding their products
If it's true, we'll probably see the redesigned SC430 in the NY Autoshow next week, where they' ve already announced the unveiling of the redesigned IS to be released this September & the GS450h spring next year. No redesigned SC430 this September is mentioned.
Instead, the SC430 will probably get a facelift with some upgrades, which is a far cry from a totally redesigned new body.
For 2006 SC430, you may want to look at THIS THREAD

Do you have any idea when they will redesign the SC?

I agree with the others. Look at the history of the 2 top of the line cars...the LS and SC. Both had subtle changes over the years but retaining the same basic look for about 8 years. Both were and are successful. I don't see Lexus deviating too much from a successful formula. I think it'll be closer to 2010 before a totally new SC comes around.

but to lexus as a business, and if they want to success, and seems like what they are trying to do, push out facelift more often and also put up new models sooner than 6 yrs is the right thing to do. the amount of business they can generate is just enormous
it's a hard fact, very hard for us to swollow for sure

The www.lexus.jp web site was launched a couple of months ago. When initially started, in the 'modeles tag' you could see four links :GS IS SC Concept cars.
Only the GS link was active. Then early march, when the new IS was launched during the Geneva Auto-show, the link toward the IS pages was activated.
And now the SC link is still not active. Does it mean that Lexus is awaiting a new SC annoucement to activate it?

As long as dealers are moving cars, manufacturers can keep pumping them out. The Lexus formula of making only subtle changes but retaining the basic shape for 8 yrs has been very successful. Look at how many LS400's, GS and SC's you see out there. A well kept older Lexus is better than getting a new Honda, IMO. Especially if it's modded.
it's funny, for us the lexus owners, most of us (yes, including me) like the fact that the car style stay long, but if you go out and talk to general public, they don't like the fact that lexus don't change style often enough. to me, that means something
