Default Muffler tips.

Hi, does anyone know how to take out the muffler tips of sc430?

I've never attemped to take them off mine. If they're like the SC400, they are friction fit with a spring steel collar.

There's a set bolt at the very bottom, so they should slide out. You'll probably have to rotate and pull at the same time. Spray WD40 in there first.

Do you have something better in mind? Inquiring minds want to know

I didn't take a real close look when I replaced my exhaust system but it looked like there was a bit more there than a set screw. The tips are really just for show. The real pipes from the muffler to the tips are tiny by comparison. They needed a way to bridge the gap between the tiny pipe and the much larger tips. I remember it being a 2 piece support arrangement for the tips with with a large steel insert and the chrome tip sliding over the insert. I could be wrong about the setup, as I said I didn't look at it all that closely, but I was amazed by how small that pipe from the muffler to the tip was.
