Default Blitz intake

Hey all,
New to the forum, but have been browsing for a while. Looks like this is the place to be for mods. WOW boosted SC430's...cant imagine.

Anyways I have a blitz intake on order currently but i was told from someone else i knew that they filter like crap! I was alarmed at what he said; almost offended. I knew it gave good power gains as listed in a variety of mags and looked really nice too. He gave me these links... they were from MKIV supra
http://www.mkiv.com

http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/filters_test/2/

This was the english version.

http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/fil...t/1/index.html

japanese version for Revspeed magazine in japan.

http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/fil...t/1/vacuum.jpg

and how they did it.

something to note; MKIV said they rated the apexi intake the best because the test was done by an apexi dealer...not sure if that is true or not but if it is i might just get the injen air intake with the plain old K&N filter...things are dusty over here in Canada and the main reason for an intake is filtering, although power is also a priority. any ideas?

i wouldnt worry about it. just go with it thats nothing for an engine....the egr system and the pvc dumping *hit into ur manifold is 10x worse

but if u want to b on the safer side id go with the apexi i saw a similar test done before and apexi won so its ur call

Wink

This is a very old thread and has already been resolved. Yes the injen is the way to go and in concerns about water; purchase a intake pre-filter. they are a very thin sheet of material that does not hinder air flow but stops small microns of dust and water.

the site is at www.outerwears.com. For the SC430 they now have an application for the injen intake filter but if you have a different filter, they can customize for any size possible. Thats what I had to do with mine before they had the application. I highly recommend this upgrade for rain driving and its only like $20-25 so a very cheap investment to say the least!!

Default Blitz SUS Intake removed and will be up for grabs shortly...

Well, I bought a very good Blitz SUS intake a few months ago from another member and have used it for about 4 months.

It was very nice and I did receive some minor gain in HP (about 2-4) given that I'm still using the stock exhaust system.

The reason why I removed it and put back the stock intake was because I did lose some mpg's on gas mileage. I don't know why?

I will be posting some pics of the used Blitz SUS Intake and make it available on the SC430 Classifieds in the next couple of days or so.

This would be of more benefit for someone who as an aftermarket exhaust system with other engine mods and receive much better gain than I have.

I could have saved the Blitz SUS intake and use it in the future but for the time being I thought someone else may be looking for a used one in good condition and use it to their advantage.

The intall is very easy and you use the same screws from the stock one.

thanks...teeeman3

the reason why you lose mpg is coz' you floor the car a lot more tee that's always the case. just like my exhaust, i am sure i lost some gas mileage after putting it on. but i dont' care
