Driver's Door Lock Issues
Looking for any input or guidance here. I recently replaced my driver's side door actuator with an AISIN unit (as far as I know it's new, not reman'd) from PartsGeek.com. Reason for replacement is that the previous one would work intermittently and would either beep when locked or unlocked via the FOB or make no noise or movement when using the FOB. Once this replacement was installed, all worked well for around two days as it should.
Today while getting some lunch, I made my way back to the car pressed the unlock button, heard the normal beep, but the driver's door was still locked. The passenger door worked as it should but no movement on the driver's side regardless of the beep. Some other weird details below:
1) Car will beep when pressing unlock or lock button on FOB but no action happening. The driver's side needs to be opened or locked manually. Passenger side works as it should.
2) With the car off and no key in ignition the manual lock switch (driver's side) by the window buttons (which do function) does nothing. However the passenger switch does work and moves the passenger lock as it should with the key still out. With the key in and in ACC mode, the driver's switch magically works.
3) The dome lights will not come on with the driver's door open but they will come on with the passenger door open. I checked the switch on the actual body of the car and it doesn't appeared to be stuck.
I did already reach out to PartsGeek for a replacement but wanted to run this through the forum in case anyone has any suggestions. I did check the usual DOME, MPX, and D-DOOR fuses which all look good - if there are any other ones I should be looking at, please let me know!
I'm wondering if it had anything to do with the following which may have "confused" the door ecu:
The night before I attempted to program the key to memory seat function which I found out I am only spoiled with in my GX460. As far as I read, the SC430 does not have this function and realized it more when no confirmation beep occurred after holding the lock and seat setting button. I think the main reason I did not notice anything off at first is that the door stayed unlocked all night and only had a chance to lock and remain locked during lunch.
If anything does change, I will let y'all know!
