Default Backlighting

Maybe an old issue but it's driving me crazy and I've not seen an answer that helps. My shifter console, climate control and radio backlights do not light. Fuse 5 is good. Rotary **** (bright/dim) works for dash and main radio and ac screens. Gotta be something I'm missing. Please help!
