Yes, there is a difference. In response to Gazi's thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=169752

First, one is longer than the other by nearly an inch.

Next, the head is not only different in the way it is cut, but also the bolts are spaced differently and will not line up with the holes.

As you can see, the bottom is also different. There's nearly an inch or better of difference in the mounting position of the bolts. These MUST line up, drilling new holes ofsets the track. It will not work.

If you are hellbent on using an SC3 regulator in an Sc4, you can grind off the end and dremel a new notch for the regulator stay. I have done that three times myself. This is actually the longer one from the SC4, with the SC3 regulators motor and cord. Since it is shorter, I have compensated by trimming the longer arm.

This allows you to use the SC3 regulator cord and motor (which is shorter) in the longer SC4 regulator.

actualy it looks that they're the same for JZZ31 & UZZ30's just that there are some funky early production splits... looked at complete assemblies (with motor)

9104-9307 SC3/SC4 use one number (24040)

9307-9401 SC3/SC4 use another (24041 and doesnt sup)

9401-0007 SC3/SC4 use a different number (24050)

first one is clearly 92-93 MY.... second maybe early '94 production? and third is mid '94 ti'll the end....

I dont see any variations in the door shells etc, so i dont know why they're different, nor where exactly they bolt up.

They're the same for SC3 & SC4 (as long as the catalog doesnt lie)

I have verified this on 4 SC's (two my own Sc4's and two SC3's in town). I dunno why the catalogue says that.

I thought they were just different between years. When I bought one from the junkyard (a 94 sc300) it didn't fit my 92 sc300. So when I ordered a new one from Lexus, they asked me which year my car was and said somthing like only 92's are diff or something of that sort.

That's basically what I am trying to find out since we never got a straight answer completely.

thanks for this info. Now I know that when my 92 SC400 regulators break, I should just go to the dealer and pay up for the correct year/application.

What year/model car do you own, and what year/model did you buy one from?
