Immobilizer?
This is the key
Does anyone know if this 97 sc400 has an immobilizer? This is all i pulled out and it just looks to be an led. Btw, does anyone know what that black box with the yellow and brown wire is?

Hello,
No, your car is not equipped with Immobilizer, the key is flat and there is no coil on the Ignition Switch.
As for the box, I presume you mean the component in the Second picture on the Top Left, it is an Interior Temperature Sensor for the Climate Control, a vital component for the proper operation of the system, make sure to treat it with care and not touch the probe on the inside as it is very delicate and it can distort the readings.
Hope this helps and best of luck!
