Default Best 12 disk CD changer cassette replacement option

We were very disappointed to find that that the 12 CD changer cassette (Model 86273-24030) was missing from my son’s ‘93 CD changer. We’d like to replace it until he gets the cash to upgrade his system.

We see some used ones on Ebay for around $30.

Are there any better options?

Lucas, other than a good working factory used replacement there really aren't for CD changers if you're keeping the factory head unit. Most will change to a 1-DIN or 2-DIN head unit if they're just keeping the stock amplifier and speaker setup but want to change the head unit entirely (noting for your future research, look to threads made by CL member "Raine" which explain how to wire in an aftermarket head unit with the stock amplifier system and wiring).

What you both can do in the interim is the aux jack mod for your factory head unit (best if your car has the non-Nakamichi factory stereo head unit). With that you can add a stereo ground loop isolator (from Radio Shack online, Amazon or Ebay) and then a Bluetooth audio adapter to connect with a cellphone for whatever audio he wants to play on there, as well as handsfree calling (that is, depending on what ground rules you may set regarding his cellphone use).

If it is still available I had very good experience with the iSimple Tranzit BLU-HF. Excellent tuck-behind-the-radio-bezel design.
