MY 93 sc400 isnt kicking down into passing gear what can i do to fix this problem
The trans kickdown cable runs from the engine bay down to drivers side of the transmission. It is fairly thick and noticeable when you’re under there. You’ll have to take off the TRAC cover, there are two cables there. One goes into your firewall and is the throttle cable, the other goes down behind the engine. The one that goes down is the kickdown cable. It is clipped to the car and the engine in a couple places. Kind of a ***** to get out. Check if it’s connected but I doubt this would come loose or wear out. Seemed pretty sturdy when I took mine out.
There are sensors that can cause the car to not kickdown, I believe. It could also be a faulty kickdown switch, the pad is quite low and you really have to mash the pedal to activate it. Good luck!
