Question

Hi all,
how many of you have added an additonal subwoofer?
I still have my fosgate amp and bazooka tube left over from my dsm. I'd like to add it to my (94) SC300.
But since I'm choosing to keep the facotory head unit I don't have any rca output singal.
Where did you guys get the signal from???
I wass thinking about getting a line converter, but I hear the singal quality is that good from them. But even if I do get it where sould I tap??
Does the factory head unit send a low pass signal to the factory sub? or does it have a crossover built in?
Just wondering if I'll need my crossover if I tap into the subwoofer signal.

Thanks
Ken

Wink Sounds good!

I did the exact same thing to my SC. Added an amp and a Bass Tube. Sounds Great!!

Just get a RCA signal converter from a stereo shop or Radio shack. The more expensive the more clear as a general rule of thumb.

Mine cost $20 it was schosche brand I think.

It tells you how to wire it up. Just use your wires coming directly to the 10" speaker and convert them to RCA.

Also, it helps to take out your old 10" speaker.

Good Luck,
Scott

Thumbs up sub

Hi Scott,
thanks for the info.
btw: I take it that you didn't use a crossover, and the factory signal to the factory sub was already a low pass (low feqency sub woofer signal).

Thanks again
Ken

Cool Custom solution

I had a 92 SC4 with a Naki system (280W std) but upgraded the rear speakers & subs so needed more power. Installed two Xtant Amps which include line leve input ability. The result was awesome and really improved the punch.
