adding additional sub woofer
Hi all,
how many of you have added an additonal subwoofer?
I still have my fosgate amp and bazooka tube left over from my dsm. I'd like to add it to my (94) SC300.
But since I'm choosing to keep the facotory head unit I don't have any rca output singal.
Where did you guys get the signal from???
I wass thinking about getting a line converter, but I hear the singal quality is that good from them. But even if I do get it where sould I tap??
Does the factory head unit send a low pass signal to the factory sub? or does it have a crossover built in?
Just wondering if I'll need my crossover if I tap into the subwoofer signal.
Thanks

Just put the LLC between your sub & the amp. I ran a RF Punch amp on a JL infinite baffle sub & just put the RF amp card in the low Pass Mode. While a LLC isn't the cleanest signal, Phoenix Gold makes a good one as does a company called SoundGate that Scott swears by! Stinger's OK as well.
