Default ECT PWR button??

Guys,

Apologies as I do not have a manual for my car. The ECT PWR button - does this make the car let you get higher rpms before switching gears?? Is it bad to use it too much?? When would you use something like this?? Sorry if this is moronic. I searched and found out what it stands for - but never fully understood its pro's and con's. Excuse my ignorance!!

just my opinion.

does this make the car let you get higher rpms before switching gears??

yes and it downshifts more aggressively. from my experiance i can usually get to redline or close w/o ECT on

Is it bad to use it too much??

IMO, no. unlesss your really concerned with mpg. i found cruising normally wth ECT on keeps the car in each gear longer

When would you use something like this??

when you want to have fun in a backroad or racing someone.

i own an SC300 so i dunno how 400's are but im pretty sure its almost the same thing
