raising the shift points is supposed to help your acceleration and drain the gas tank faster

Sure seems that way, gas goes quick. I dig the sound tho, hard acceleration with the ECT on is pretty sweet....lol

it even says in the manual that gas'll go quicker. i've only used the button about twice in the oh so many years i've had the car. if i need quick acceleration i either punch the pedal real hard or keep the shifter in second and shift whenever i want

It's pretty beneficial because by raising the shifting points, not only are you getting the most out of each gear, but you also stay in the optimum part of the engine's power band when the transmission shifts up a gear.
