Nice work! Big job on a 1UZ, but much easier if you've done it before.

i've never done it before but not having to worry about being able to drive the car really takes away from any stress associated with this job lol.

Oops, misread what you posted, haha! You're right, working on the side chick is always much less stressful. It's nice to just be able to tuck it away and save it for later if needed.

Finally got the timing belt done, it's a looooong video lol. Next up is rewiring the fans with proper plugs and tucking all that wiring away so i have a clean engine bay. This weekend I'm redoing the exhaust because the previous owner thought it would be a good idea to have the whole thing welded to a single piece with 5 different sizes of pipe all over the place.

i keep forgetting to post updates on here. i redid the entire exhaust. fixed all the leaks, split it into 2 pieces instead of one giant 10 foot monster.

here's a video of some regular street driving the car as well. there's still a bit of a smell in the cabin, i have to close up the shifter hole. i also have a burning oil smell on downshifts that might be coming from a small crack in my valve cover. i either have to source a driver side valve cover or get it welded somewhere.

I keep forgetting to post here so i got a few videos to post.
First i rebuilt and simplified the whole cooling system.

And then i installed a proper expansion tank and new aerocatch hood pins. No more ugly faux stainless pins that were rusting.

And then i took it out for "testing" in Mexico.

Next up is going to be brakes, waiting for all the parts to arrive and gotta order a couple more things too. Hopefully another stimulus check arrives lmao, then I'd really be upgrading some stuff!

i just finished completely rebuilding the entire brake system (except replacing rear calipers) and installing Supra TT Front Brakes. it was a long process but totally worth it for the super clean engine bay look.

having the time of my life lol and next summer is gonna get even crazier and i can't even contain my excitement. i'm already prepping it for paint, hopefully in a couple weeks that video will be out as well. i also ordered prothane bushings for all the front arms, with new brakes i noticed how much the arm clunks when reversing and hitting the brakes.
