Opposite Problem: Help
Everyone talks about their speedo and rpm needles giving out, but the exact opposite happened to me. Both my fuel gauge and temp needles have fizzed out. Can I replace them solely or do I have to replace the whole kit and kaboodle?

That's extremely odd. you might have a problem with the OP AMP that drives those two needle's. The reason why LExus wants to sell you another cluster instead of replacing the two needle's is because they have to be balanced and weighed. noone at lexus is trained to do that in MOST dealerships. it is done in house at the factory. they'd rather sell you a cluster that is pre-balanced rather than listen to you moaning and complaining that you just paid $400.00 for 2 needles 
and they are completely off on the readings. They don't keep a tech in house that works on "component level" electronics. they just have an installer that chunks the old one and slides a new one in and he cannot weigh and balance then needle's properly.
You can rebuild them, replace them, or do nothing, but your options are limitless, now.
