3,883 SC300 Manuals Produced, how many remain in stock original condition?
#32
My black 93 SC300 5-speed is stock except for the 18" wheels I am running and the coilovers I am currently installing.
But the paint is perfect except for a few stone chips, no collision damage, never driven in snow/salt, minimal interior wear, untouched drivetrain and just under 51k miles. :-)
Just starting some minor mods now but not sure how far to take it. Next up will be an axle back exhaust so that sweet engine can make some noise and then maybe new headlights and taillights.
It is not for sale at the moment, won't ever get parted out (hopefully) and it may never be up for grabs while I am alive - time will tell.

1992 5-speed Royal Jade Pearl 100% original 83k miles
My SC300 is 100% original.
Just over 83k miles.
Still runs and drives like new.
I treat it like a collector car.

Out of the 3,883 SC's manuals produced, how many would you think are remaining in original condition? No mods, no body damage, original Paint, original body panels, motor and trans, clean title and appearing close to show room condition?
Do any members here own a stock 93 Pearl white 5spd?
Searching Cars.com and Auto-trader nationwide and Cl in 13 major city's across the country.. I found 20 manuals. 10 were highly modified, a few holding S titles were priced at $10k to $15K. 7 of the 20 were basket cases/junk priced around $2k and only 3 appeared to be stock selling for $5k to 9K.Only 3 of the 20 were stock survivors.
My speculation is, ½ of the 3,883 are gone forever, crushed or dismantled. Out of the approx 2,000 units remaining, some limited research would indicate 75% of the 1,941 remaining manuals have been modified or altered from original. Leaving approx 500 total stock units.
Breaking it down by year , 1993 manuals, total units produced 910 - ½ gone 405 remaining. Divide the 405 by seven colors = 57 pearl whites x 75% rate of modification =42 modified 57 pearl whites remaining -42 modified units =15 1993 pearl white manuals that are in original condition
Looking at the classic car collector market and using their definitions, stock original reflects a unit that would not appear different than factory, has all original panels, matching motor and trans..Question, if the seats and trim are reupholstered back to stock appearance, and no modification have been done only required service and maintenance completed..would a car of that description be considered stock original?

I have one with just over 51k miles and stock except for the wheels and coilovers.
But considering what these sell for I am probably not willing to part with mine. lol

I've got one! 1993 Sc300 5MT
So far, only things I have (recently) replaced were wheels and coilovers. Other than that, all stock (for now.) See my build thread link below for photos and whatnot.

My '94 black on beige
I bought mine in fall of '22 for $8500 from the original owner with everything completely stock. The paint was pretty damn nice with the exception of the hood and bumper where there are several rock chips. I'm hoping once I finish the r154 swap that i can clean the front end up and bring it back to full showroom quality. The car has 214k miles on it and you wouldn't even guess by looking at it.
needed some cleaning but this was right after I bought it
Engine wise it is almost completely original. The only things (to my knowledge) that were replaced were the water pump and the timing chain as preventive measure.
This is the car now a days. Rev9 coilovers, Enkei J10 wheels, and i re ran the harness into the engine bay. Everything else is still stock
