its hard to keep them stock. my disc player went out, am i to just not have cd's. or expected to pay whatever enay wants for another that will break in a year? what about guage needles. my first sc wouldnt receive any fm signal. i get more afraid to drive my 92 factory manual everyday because if something happens insurance will pay 2k at the most. when i have spent over 8k on it. and it is simply irreplaceable.

I have 96 SC 300 5 speed. 65k miles. Bought from original owner earlier this year. Royal Jade Pearl paint was bird poop, sun, and sap damaged. Repainted in midnight indigo pearl. Otherwise original.

Mine has a rebuilt title and about 150k miles. Rust free southern example with recent timing belt and JIC coilovers and vaarstoen wheels was about $6000 when I bought it a year and a half ago. Don't know or care what its worth to other people as it's a great car. I would rather drive this car 5k miles a year for as long as I want then stare at a museum piece like a supra.

My 95 5 speed seems stock. Teal mist metallic bought from a guy who purchased it from an estate, family knew little about it. What's the best resource for tracking a vehicle history?

Carfax, Lexus.com owners section to look up the older vehicle service history from new until whenever the car stopped getting regular dealership service. Other than that you can only rely on whatever paper service records, historical papers, pictures and stories the previous owner can tell you.

Picked this up Saturday. 1995 SC300 5-speeed with 312k miles. Except for the sweet digicam duct tape, its about as original and unmolested as a 300k mile car can get. It even has the First Aid kit! The interior is actually pretty clean except for the parking brake boot and center console. The guy I bought it off swears "its all highway miles" and the head has never been off the motor. I am inclined to believe him since the timing belt replacement sticker says it was last done at 102k....YIKES!

I dropped mine down too. Insurance doesn't value these cars for anything so why spend the money. I agree that it's irreplaceable to me... But that's how life works sometimes - no guarantees.
