Wanna scan the Dyno sheet for the rest of the members...

Is the engine all stock? 250HP and 290TQ to the wheels sounds pretty promising for a stock engine..

Do you have a boost controller? How did you increase boost? 250rwhp and 290rwtq sounds pretty fast, relative to the rest of us

i dunno what original boost is supposed to be
but i did the T-fitting with a 2mm silicone vac hose attached to it.

the hose is like 5inches long
if i cut it shorter it will increase the boost i assume, but .73 is good.

I also have the SLD and FCD, but not installed yet.

Dimcorner,
I think the Soarer has a stock boost level of around 8psi, not sure what that is in bar figures though.

One HoT SC400,
There have been tests of the Soarer 2.5GT here in Australia and they have recorded the following:
- Flywheel HP: 280@?rpm
- Flywheel Torque: 363Nm@4800rpm
- 0-100km/h (0-62mph): 5.8~6.0sec
- 0-400m (1/4 mile): 14.9sec (cold day), 15.07sec (blistering hot day).

FYI:

1 bar = 14.5 psi
363nm = 267.74 ft-lbs

do you know if those numbers for the 1/4 are for auto or manual?

I had such a hard time dynoing the auto, on top of that the speed governer just stopped the car at 180kph. :\

Also... what is the loss on a auto tranny from engine to wheels?

These numbers were from a 1992 Soarer 2.5GT AUTO It was in High Performance Imports, I can't remember what issue, I think issue 3 or 4 (it had a Pulsar GTi-R on the cover). I'd say that'd be pretty accurate, as I've done a bit of amature 0-400m timing, and I get around low ~ mid 15 second passes, and that's with a sub box in the boot and a bit of a heavy driver lol

You've got to hate the 180km/h limiter, only thing is when driving, say for argument's sake, on the highway, you don't notice it's going so fast, and the engine is only pulling around 3800~4000rpm! Still a good 3000rpm to play with! To get around it fit an A'PEXi RSM-GP meter with the appropriate harness.

The average rwkw output of JZZ30 Soarers here in Australia seems to be around 148~149rwkw (about 198~199rwhp) in stock, unmodified form, however when tinkered (simple mods too, like BFI, exhaust, A'PEXi S-AFC and boost increase to 14psi) you can reach about 180rwkw (or around 240rwhp)... not bad for simple BPUs!!!

Default For example...

Check out this dyno print out from a similarily modified Soarer TT here in Australia...

Remember, his mods only consist of:
- Cat. back exhaust (twin 2.5" system)
- A'PEXi S-AFC
- BFI
- Blitz boost controller (set at 14psi, or around 0.9bar)
