Cam sensor replaced, code 13 removed, still problem
Hey everyone, i have some bad hesitation at 1500 rpm and upwards. Idle is fine. I had a code 13 and replaced the faulty cam sensor. I think it might be the ecu from what ive read? Would air in the coolant system cause this? Also, where is the ecu. I am new to this car. Thanks for the help
carefully looked inside the ecu and there is a very small bit of brown under my c112 capacitor...so small not sure if its leaked acid or not...i think I will just send it in to get serviced, Tanin does that right?
I have that same hesitation\jerking around 1500-2000 rpm. I have never had a code 13 or anything like that. I have a 95 SC400 with 119,xxx and it was due for a tune up so I have done timing belt, water pump, fan belt, distributor cap\rotor and air filter. That has fixed nothing and I didn't really expect it too...I'm also going to try plugs\wires\coils and see if that does anything. I also think it is my ECU from what I have read. Tanin does do ecu rebuilds, please post with your results when you get it rebuilt.
Yes, Tanin does excellent work. If there are signs of a capacitor leaking, it needs rebuilding regardless if it is causing issue or not. Also check the cam sensor harness, that it isn't tangled up in the serpentine belt.
The Previous owner ssaid he thought it jumped time...if that were the case it wouldnt idle perfectly fine...right? I am going to go the ecu route first. Cam sensors are now fine, one did get cought in the timing belt by previous owner because they never put the covers on, I see that so much on cars its boggles the mind why people think those covers arent important lol. I will report back with results after ecu replacement so check this thread in a week. Thanks guys
