Right, but the resin would still stick to the aluminum and harden, wouldn't it? Can you just wipe it down after each use and keep build-up to a minimum, and the roller free to roll?

just let the resin dry, it doesn't stick to smooth surfaces or plastic very well, just peels off. a plastic roller would probably be the best.

Before the resin hardens, flush the roller off with acetone. I used to fiberglass full time, we'd go through 5 gallon drums of acetone like crazy. Keeping something like a large coffee can full of the stuff so you could toss in your rollers and brushes right away kept them clean for another use. Believe me, when the resin hardens on those rollers, they're done for.

By the way, if you don't have a handy supply store nearby, amazon has a good selection.

^ Ah yes, I missed that you initially mentioned acetone for cleaning brushes and rollers. I've got a big jug of the stuff, although nothing approaching 5 gallon drums.

I'm in the same boat you are.
This time last year, I started an audio system, and haven't completed it, because I need a new rear-deck. Smh
