window problem
Had the windows tinted today on my 1992 SC400.They look great, the problem is the driver side window does not want to go all the way up. The guy at the tint shop told me he had to push it with his hands to get it all the way up. The motor seems fine and it goes down alright. Never noticed a problem with it until today.Has anyone else had this problem and what did you do? I'm thinking a clip or someother piece of the window track may have come loose or broke off. Any ideas?
Thanks Ken

I would question the quality of work that he did if it only happened after his magical touch. I also have a problem with my passenger side window rolling up. It goes up slower that it goes down and makes a clicking noise. I have not taken it apart or looked at a manual but it sounds like a tooth is missing off the gearing or something. When you find the problem, POST IT PLEASE.
this really doesn't explain the direct problem fully, but give it a few days to dry and see what happens. they spray soap and water onto the glass and it is possible some ran into the window motor.
i dont see anyway that the window could have been damaged otherwise knowing the procedure for tinting windows.
1. take the tint outside the window and cut to form.
2. spray soap/water and razorblade window to clean.
3. roll window down 1/2 inch to allow proper trim of the upper tint to the window line.
4. install tint and trim it.
5. roll window back up.
done.
aside of the water running into the motor, i just dont see anything else it could be aside of dumbluck. stranger things have happened "just at the right time".
