Default Stupid question about jacking up car

So know where the 4 main jack points are under the car. My question is, how do you guys get the car on jack stands if your jack is already on the jack point. I've tried getting the jack stand as close to thhe jack as I can but it still isn't on the actually jack point and tends to bend some of the metal pinch welds beside the jack point.

How are you guys handling this?

Again sorry for the stupid question

Move the jack off the jack point but be as close as possible, and then put the jackstand or whatever long-term stand on the point itself. Our cars are old and pinch welds will most certainly bend, it tends to happen.

I put the jack itself on the center mounting point (under the front crossmember and rear diff carrier) and raise it up from there, then place the jack stands under the pinch welds afterwards, making sure to get as close to the support's height as possible to avoid a harsh drop.

I jack the car up by the rear differential. One of the safest places to lift the car and won't ruin your side sill and pinch weld.

I really dont trust the pinch welds but that is where it says in the manual. for long term I really get nerves on those pinch welds

2x4's under the tires to get the car high enough by either driving onto them or using the tow hooks to jack it up (i know i'm not supposed to do that, call obama). then use the rear diff or front subframe and jack it up the rest of the way from there until a stand fits under the actual jack points.

I jack the front up using the tow hooks. One on each side of front. Then put the jack stands under pinch welds. If i'm going to be under the car I keep the floor jacks under the tow hooks. I have three floor jacks
