Still EGR problems please help!
ive searched all over the forum and no luck. ive found some info on the supra forums but nothing really useful. im thinking of doing the egr block off plate but i dont know about removing anything from my car. someone mentioned that i could clean my EGR valve. could someone let me know specifically how to do it. ive knowticed that alot of people have the same problems. please help. thank.
wait which cylinder is cylinder 6. what do i do after i remove them. and if i use a block of plate will it affect my driving at all, because it feels kind of sluggish right now? and does anyone sell block off plates for our cars. i know theres one for the supra but they only sell one block off plate will it fit for both of the egr valves.
cylinder 6 is the one nearest to the firewall
it'll give you a check engine sign if you don't put a resister in for the plug that attaches to the egr
it'll drive normal, egr is only for emmission purposes only
you'll need to buy two block off plates, one for the cylinder head and one for the intake manifold

the husler07: the EGR takes exhaust gas and re-routes them back into the motor for recombustion. Supposedly this reburns the exhaust gas for a cleaner emission. However, burning exhaust vs. fresh air degrades performance. A block off plate blocks the entrance in the manifold where the exhaust was supposed to be routed. Some block off plates go in between the EGR to make it look functional for SMOG tests.
I took the EGR system off my 95 SC300. Basically I had to use 2 of the same supra block of plates ( the one that looks like 3 waves). Once I put them on we installed a 15 ohm (correct me if I'm wrong it's been a while) resistor and boom no codes or problems since.

i tried to disconnect power cord to the egr vavle near cylinder 6 and tried to put a resister in there but the power line that i got was a male plug. is this the right plug? and in the case that it is how can put the resister in. sorry to be a bother. thanks again.
just cut the connector off the 2-wire cable (leave enough wire on the connector end to re-attach if you need to later, then just wire the resistor in-line between the two wires... it will be a more secure connection than trying to plug the resistor into the connector anyway... obviously, best to solder the connections if you have the tools, but otherwise, you can just use regular twist-on wire nuts to do the job.
don't be afraid, this really isn't rocket science!
