Default obd1 scanner?

Is there a scanner that i can use for our obd1's instead of using using the jumper method? If so do you guys know what brand and model that will work? I have rented one from oreilly that said it would fit Toyota and Lexus but turns out it didn't

They exist but why buy one when you can retrieve the code with just a paperclip? I know for a fact Lexus made one but it is very rare and hard to find and they're priced at over 1k...

If you have a serial port to usb adapter and a spare serial cable you can get live readings with an obd1 stream reader that some russian guy made. Im on mobile but ill find the link later if u cant.

Otherwise you can do the paperclip trick and there is a bulb output you can put a 12v bulb into with the dlc connector.

Why dont you pull the cluster and put the cel bulb back in?

^ Damn, that sucks. Hopefully, they weren't hiding anything significant by disabling the CEL. Is it just the bulb that was taken out, or did they do more to conceal its notifications?

Pulling the cluster is not a pain. I've done it several times.
